PROJECT
Supporting Agri-Tech Startups — Design Facilitation for Product Development
Berytech — ACTsmart Innovation Hub, Lebanon

Context
Lebanon’s agri-tech sector is witnessing growing innovation, with early-stage startups developing prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) in response to pressing agrifood and clean technology challenges. However, many founders face difficulties in structuring scalable, resilient business models that account for complex market, environmental, and stakeholder dynamics. As part of the ACTsmart Innovation Hub, co-funded by Berytech and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon, there was a need to equip startups with a systems-based framework to strengthen their business model design and strategic decision-making.
What MAJAZ Did
MAJAZ designed and led a three-day intensive workshop supporting 12 Lebanese agri-tech startups in rethinking and structuring their business models through a systems thinking approach. Through interactive and applied sessions, participants mapped their value propositions, identified key stakeholders, and analyzed the interdependencies between operational, financial, environmental, and market components of their ventures. The workshop integrated systems mapping tools with business model design frameworks to help founders move beyond linear planning toward more holistic strategy development. The facilitation emphasized practical application, enabling startups to refine their MVP positioning while building scalable and adaptable business models.

Outcome
- Systems-informed business model frameworks for 12 agri-tech startups
- Clearer articulation of value propositions and stakeholder ecosystems
- Stronger strategic alignment between product innovation and market realities
- Increased readiness for scaling and navigating sector-specific complexities
